Application oriented seminar
“Mechanical properties of thin films” on November 6th and 7th, 2007

Due to the great success of our seminar last year we will organise again a seminar about mechanical properties of thin films.

Micro Materials offers measuring systems for:

determination of hardness and elastical modulus of thin layers by micro and nano indentation technique

scratch tests of surfaces and adhesion of layers

wear resistance of rotating disks

tensile test of very thin samples

repetitive impact tests

During the one day seminar an expert of Micro Materials will introduce these measurement techniques and explain the different systems by means of application examples. During the afternoon we will present the NanoTest system. We will demonstrate how to set up experiments using the different measurement modules.

The number of participants at the one day seminar should be around 10 persons. If we would have more registrations we will offer a second or third date.

Information for participants:

Date 1: November 6th, 2007
Date 2: November 7th, 2007 (possibly)

Registration deadline: October 5th, 2007

The number of participants of each seminar is limited to 10 persons. If more than 10 participants apply for the seminar we will split the seminar and offer a second/third date.

After receiving your registration we will send you a confirmation including program and description how to reach the hotel.

L.O.T.-Oriel will take the seminar expenses including lunch.

The seminar will start at 9:00 o’ clock and will end at around 16:00.

Travel and hotel expenses should be paid by the participants. We ask to look for hotel reservation by yourself.
We have done pre-reservation of a limited number of hotel rooms at the Contel Hotel, Otto-Röhm-Str. 90, D-64293 Darmstadt, Phone: +49-(0)6151-8820; Fax: +49-(0)6151-882888) under the code “L.O.T051107”.

The rate for the hotel rooms will be: € 79,50 per night, single room incl. breakfast.
Please take care of your hotel reservation by yourself.
