
The FT-FS5000 is a compact metrological stand-alone system. It has been designed for sophisticated micromechanical measurements of samples that demand small forces, like force vs. deformation (stress vs. strain) curves of micro fabricated mechanical structures.
The system consists of a high-precision, three-axis micropositioning unit with integrated high-resolution optical encoders.
The integrated camera allows the visualization of the sample at a 45° angle with a field-of-view
of 10 x 10 mm and a camera resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels.
The compression tester is compatible with all FT-S sensors and allows micromechanical measurements from 5 nN to 10 mN.

The system is compatible with all microgrippers of the FT-G series and a great number of sample holders like microscope slides, micro-fabricated chips or even whole wafers.
The FTWGS01 microhandling software with its graphical user interface (GUI) permits even sophisticated pick-and-place applications. When combined with our unique FT-G microgrippers, it also provides control of the force that is applied to the sample. This force-feedback-function allows the handling of even very delicate objects.

The FT-RS5000 microrobotic station is a combination of the established compression tester and micro assembly system. With the new controller, both the microgripper and micro force sensors may be controlled and read out by the same manipulation unit. Also, thanks to the new controller, all FT-G microgrippers may be controlled by the same manipulation unit thus allowing even sophisticated “pick and place” applications. The unique force-feedback-function also allows the handling of extremely fragile objects.
