Ralph Köhler studied physics at the University of Bonn until 1981.
Originally, he intended to become high school teacher of physics.
However, he decided to work for a German company instead and sold equipment for scientific experiments.
In 1985, he joined L.O.T.-Oriel. At first, he was responsible for Spectroscopy, later for Particle Size Analysis and then for the High End Infrared Cameras.
In 1995, he became Sales & Marketing Director, since 2004 he has been the Managing Director of the Company.
